Synopsis: Marvel Tales #114 reprints Amazing Spider-Man #137 (October 1974) in which the Wall Crawler faces the son of his nemesis the Green Goblin. Continued directly from last issue, Spider-Man must deal with Harry Osborn as a foe who knows his secret identity and is attacking him and his loved ones with impunity. The villain captures Aunt May, Flash and Mary Jane, revealing to Spider-Man during a fight that they are in different locations and that he has only six minutes to figure out which one to save before a bomb detonates. Spider-Man knocks the Goblin out cold with one angry punch and rushes off.  After replenishing his web fluid, Spider-Man uses his Spider Sense to track down Aunt May, who he determined must be the one of the three who is in real danger. Spider-Man arrives in time and throws the bomb out into the harbor just as it explodes. He returns to the Green Goblin's hideout where he once again tangles with the deranged villain, knocking him out and changing Harry into his civilian clothes before the medics and police arrive. Just when it looks like everything is going to be ok, Harry declares to the police that he knows Spider-Man is actually Peter Parker! Although the police think Harry's words are the ravings of a madman, it's an uncomfortable moment for Peter. These issues of Amazing Spider-Man really did a great job of weaving pulse-pounding action with soap opera-like drama and tension and it was a treat to get to read the stories for the first time as reprints in Marvel Tales.
