Storm Sketch by John Byrne (1979)

1979 was a prolific period for John Byrne who first joined the Uncanny X-Men’s creative team with issue #108 (December 1977) and was well established as a fan-favorite and rising star at Marvel. In addition to his stunning work on Marvel’s published titles, Byrne was active on the convention circuit, producing an incredible array of sketches that are fantastic artifacts of the X-Men’s Golden Age. This remarkable nude resides in the collection of Constant Bertram, who writes on his ComicArtFans page that this sketch was drawn by John Byrne as a gift for X-writer Chris Claremont.
